Q.

What advice would you give to young people interested in pursuing a career in musical theatre?

A.

I usually stay clear of giving advice, however I will encourage you to study, to train - to work harder than you dream. To have a passion and a God-given talent is one thing, but you must discipline yourself to improve that talent. You must work for endurance - the endurance to continue auditioning when the rejections seem to be too much to handle, the endurance to do 8 shows a week, the endurance to perform until you're 70 years old. This endurance, this longevity takes technique and training. It's called "Show Business" - the business part is even more important than the show. Enjoy the work!!

Q.

How did you get started performing?

A.

I did an interview with Broadwayworld.com in 2006, and I talked alot about how I started performing, my regional theatre work, and my experiences with THE BOY FROM OZ, WICKED and THE PIRATE QUEEN. The article can be found here.
