I am crazed... as I am learning the show in a short time. But I am thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful show and amazing company. This is a faux website for "Rediscovering Vera Stark"... It is hilarious and so well done. Lynn Nottage is a genius!
Herb Forrester's website include excerpts from Vera's autobiography and a documentary about "The Belle of New Orleans".

A Note from Steph
So...while very excited to announce "They're Playing Our Song", I did want to mention my disappointment as to having to pull out of the Broadway Memories Concert on Oct.2nd benefiting The Alzheimer's Association. It is going to be a wonderful evening and I certainly encourage you to still attend as other Broadway stars will presenting a fantastic performance for a fantastic cause. I certainly hope to be a part of it next year! You can learn more about the concert and purchase tickets at www.broadwaymemories.org. Thanks everybody and hope to see you in Los Angeles!
The Muny has announced casting for its 2010 summer season, featuring a number of Broadway veterans reprising roles they created on Broadway. Performers include Ken Page, Gary Beach, Stephanie J. Broadway star Stephanie J. Block performed her very own unique concert in London, featuring a selection of songs from her debut album ‘This Place I Know’ and songs highlighting her amazing career so far. She was joined by Musical Director Simon Beck, together with the sounds of a four-piece band and special West End guests Annalene Beechey and Oliver Tompsett, plus her Broadway ‘Pirate Queen’ co-star Hadley Fraser. Videos and photos are available at www.simgproductions.com.

"(6 out of 5) I cannot stop playing this CD. Both conceptually and artistically, it is one of the best debut recordings to come out of the Broadway community in quite some time. Block, currently onstage in 9to5, has a solid following and body of stage work, including THE BOY FROM OZ, THE PIRATE QUEEN and WICKED. Her voice is in pristine condition and she possesses both subtlety and nuance, as well as power - and the "good taste" of how and when to use it. She is joined on this recording, by a dizzying array of musical theatre writers, as they accompany, sing or participate in the recorded performances on a cut by cut basis. Just fantastic. This is a "must-have!" Sure to dominate the ipod this summer!" - Naomi Plume, BroadwayWorld.com Read More
“Stephanie J. Block strikes attitudes, bites into her words with ravenous glee, drinks in the dramatic pause, lets her big voice wail for a climactic moment of joy or rage, and relishes a hushed tone.... Undeniably, sparks fly.” –Talkin' Broadway
