Making her Broadway debut playing Liza Minnelli in 2003’s The Boy From Oz and fresh off her second Tony nomination for her role in Lincoln Center Theater’s Falsettos where she brought down the house with “I’m Breaking Down,” Stephanie J. Block has a special talent for showstoppers. She brings her immense voice and bold charisma to Lincoln Center for a special one-night engagement in the beautiful Appel Room. In addition to her Tony-nominated performances in Falsettos and The Mystery of Edwin Drood, she’s also appeared on Broadway in Wicked and 9 to 5.

Blending the intimacy of a cabaret with Broadway's razzle dazzle, each episode will feature one of these performers illuminating their musical journey to stardom, revisiting favorite songs, and offering glimpses of future projects. The performances, which will include appearances from additional guest stars, will be filmed in front of audiences at The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center in December 2017, and air on PBS nationwide in 2018.

The Malloy Lecture in the Arts presents “Falsettos: In Conversation” is currently sold out. The 2017 Malloy Lecture in the Arts on Monday, September 11 at 7 pm brings Tony Award-winners & Broadway stars to Westport through a unique collaboration between Westport Library, "Live From Lincoln Center" and Westport Country Playhouse. It features a panel discussion on the Broadway hitFalsettos with the men behind the show—Tony Award-winning composer and lyricist William Finnand Tony Award-winning playwright and director James Lapine—and the revival’s Tony-nominated star Stephanie J. Block. The evening will be moderated by five-time Emmy award winner, Executive Producer of "Live From Lincoln Center" and Westport resident Andrew C. Wilk.

Join Tony-nominee Stephanie J. Block as she discusses her role in the Broadway hit "Falsettos." Falsettos follows Marvin, who struggles to create a tightknit family out of his eclectic array of core relationships (including his ex-wife, his new boyfriend, his adolescent son, his psychiatrist and his neighbors). Amidst a series of monumental life changes, he is forced to reckon with his own views on love, responsibility and what it means to be a man.


Doors open 30 minutes before showtime and CLOSE 5 minutes prior to each show. There will be a standby line for every show. VALID ID REQUIRED FOR ENTRY for security purposes (No age minimum). The award-winning composer, vocalist and actress Sara Bareilles will be honored at A Night of Broadway Stars on Monday, May 22nd at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City for her advocacy on behalf of young people.  The annual Night of Broadway Stars features artists from many of Broadway’s hottest musicals and is a benefit for Covenant House, the largest charity in North and Central America serving homeless and trafficked youth.  The concert will be directed by veteran director, choreographer and Covenant House Board member Jeff Calhoun (Newsies) and hosted by Tony winner Brian Stokes Mitchell (Shuffle Along, Ragtime).


Covenant House has so far announced appearances by Jessie Mueller (Waitress, Beautiful), Stephanie J. Block (Falsettos, The Mystery of Edwin Drood), Gavin Creel (Hello Dolly), Capathia Jenkins (Newsies), Killian Donnelly (Kinky Boots), Ana Villafane (On Your Feet), Luca Padovan (School of Rock)  and the ensemble casts of Kinky Boots, Beautiful and On Your Feet. More cast members will be announced next month.


Sara will receive The Beacon of Hope Award in recognition of her work inspiring millions of girls, young women and LGBTQ youth to be proud, strong, brave and resilient.  “Sara is a powerful voice and an inspiration for our young people at Covenant House,” said Covenant House President Kevin Ryan.  “Every day in 30 cities across six countries, kids who have experienced homelessness come to the doors of Covenant House.  Sara’s song “Brave” is an anthem to many of them, and perfectly describes so many kids, each one rising up in love.  She has used her gifts to empower and inspire a generation of young people, to light a path to home for the tens of thousands of youth Covenant House reaches each year.”


Sara first achieved mainstream critical praise in 2007 with her widely successful hit “Love Song,” which reached No. 1 in 22 countries around the world.  Since then Sara has gone on to receive six Grammy nominations throughout her career and her book, Sounds Like Me: My Life (So Far) in Song is a New York Times best seller.  Sara composed the music and lyrics for “Waitress” for which she received her first Tony Award nomination for Best Score and a 2017 Grammy Award nomination for Best Musical Theater Album.  Sara is currently making her Broadway acting debut as the lead in “Waitress” for a limited engagement of 10 weeks through June 11, 2017.  For more information visit
